Mirissa – Removal of ILLEGAL constructions – the latest hiccup is a big deal - blow to our goals of fostering Tourism!

This latest action is of international importance, not subject to the whims of a few goof balls with clout, who lean on a person without a backbone to make an asinine decree against the state!

The above link is to the representation made by SLAITO to the Government to continue with upholding the law, and not encourage lawlessness, with State Patronage.

Who is running the show in Sri Lanka? A few two bit Neanderthals, or the Private Sector, with a bigger stake, whose views override that of a law breaker?

Forget the disastrous PR outcome of the Beach Boys incident, that is only indirectly relevant here.

People break the law in this Country with impunity. However, in the interests of growing the Hospitality Industry in Sri Lanka, which appears to be essential for earning the badly needed foreign exchange we need, we have seen it fit to tell the world that we had a few incidents that WILL NOT BE REPEATED and we are taking steps to combat it. One of these steps was to remove ILLEGAL constructions. I don’t know if Sri Lankans understand the meaning of the word illegal, as it is against the law and if you break the law of the land, there are penalties that have to be suffered.

In this instance, they get off scot free with only having the illegal constructions removed, at the state’s expense, not theirs, and they will not be fined either! That is extremely lenient, don’t you think?

If that was not enough, pleas were made through influential NO BODIES masquerading as SOMEBODIES to prevent this removal, so the CCD a part of the Ministry of the Environment which is directly under the purview of the President was asked to halt this removal. WHY? No real reason was given.

So how can SLAITO, the association that represents INBOUND TOUR OPERATORS, those who have to answer daily to their big clients overseas about why SL is the best place to visit, and when faced with incidents such as referred to above have to say it has been dealt with adequately within the law, have to eat CROW, because the Government has permitted the Law to be broken and nothing to be done about it.

How can SLAITO defend this action?

They cannot.

What happens?

Tourists are less likely to come to Sri Lanka.

Who suffers?

The people of this country who depend on tourism and of course the whole COUNTRY that depend on foreign currency earnings to buy their sugar, milk powder, even onions and potatoes, which means all of us.

So what has the President done?

Allowed traitors of the Nation to CARRY ON WITH TREACHERY.

Right or Wrong? Please comment on the above matter if you may

Newsmedia, why can't you break these arguments down to a simple series of questions and answers so that the public understand the consequences to their own stomach of every action that is taken by our political leaders, so they can determine if they are acting in the best interests of the people they serve, or the friends they owe their living to, as in those who enrich their personal lives?

Why are all decisions made in Sri Lanka, those that are not firm and believable? Every action seems to reverse itself in all spheres, leading people not to believe anything anymore, knowing that there is a good chance even a good decision will be overturned.

Signs of a lunatic state or at least lunatics in power

If the Country is to progress, the first step is to obey the law and the second step if that is not done is to enforce the law, and third step is to take legal action against those who break the law, and if this is done consistently the whole Country will be transformed into a winning state from a failed state.

So we should immediately dispose of all presently elected officials as they have already broken the law, and for the moment only ensure the law is respected, the results will be immediate, as most of the law breakers are by appointment of the Politicians and the Police.
